Updates & Changelog
This page is the public record of what changed on this site, and when. We keep a version history for every article, tool and page — each one also shows its own version line and history at the bottom of its page. Corrections are listed openly: fixing an error is part of keeping medical information trustworthy.
The emergency strip was upgraded to Option A on every page: 'Call emergency — now' with numbers for Pakistan, USA/Canada, UK, Europe and Australia.
A reader feedback card was added to every article: 'Did this article answer your question?' plus a country question (anonymous).
WhatsApp contact was removed from the whole site — contact is now by email only (contact@askdoctorumer.com).
Version history is now public: every article and tool shows its version and change history, and this Updates & Changelog page was launched.
Name correction: the batch FW 099 medicine 'Nezomist' was corrected to 'Nasomet Nasal Spray', per DRAP's official alert I/S/10-26-40 (19 Oct 2026); the 'reported, awaiting confirmation' framing was replaced with the officially confirmed wording (EN + UR + app data).
Suggestion box added: an optional free-text field, 'Suggest a topic or an improvement (optional)' (EN + UR, up to 1,000 characters); suggestions are saved with the answer as type 'suggestion'. Email delivery was attempted, but Cloudflare Pages does not apply send_email bindings (proof: 'send_email: null' in the live config) — so for now suggestions arrive in the site's register (KV), from where they are processed and reported to Dr. Umer in chat.
First published — article on the DRAP fake-medicine alert, with a batch / 2D-barcode teaching diagram inside the article. Published exactly as the signed-off draft, together with its evidence file.
First published as a new, separate article (the older HbA1c page was left completely untouched). One pre-publish correction: the Zhang study link in the Urdu references was fixed to the correct DOI (10.2337/dc09-1939).
14 'read-together' correlation notes went live (CN-01, CN-02, CN-04 to CN-16), per Dr. Umer's decisions. CN-03 was not implemented (the outcome of decision D4-1).
A Health News section was added to the homepage (4 verified news cards).
Plain-language 'meaning' lines (L-1 to L-14) added — every line approved word-for-word by Dr. Umer. (L-7/L-8, on lymphocytes, were not added: that parameter is not in the form; the lines are kept on file.)
Related-article links completed: the 30 articles that had none were filled in (45/45 complete).
Card photos: 29 new photos — all 45 article cards are now photographic.
'How soon…' FAQ: a 5-minute reassessment step was added (EN + UR).
The ≥180/120 urgent line was replaced with Dr. Umer's own approved wording: '…go to the emergency department as soon as possible — do not wait at home.' (EN + UR).
Connected to the warning engine: every result now passes the BP strip rules (≥180/120 → 1122 strip; <90/60 → low-BP strip; 160/100 zone → 5-minute reassessment line).
First published (the site's 17th tool). Plain-language explanations of lab values with doctor-set ranges: WBC, platelets, SpO₂, low glucose, troponin, eGFR, LDL/TG tiers, cholesterol, TSH, HbA1c, vitamin D, haemoglobin (male), differentials and non-HDL. Calm result strips (no red or flashing), with unit selectors on every field.
Six new parameters added, with ranges decided by Dr. Umer the same day: ESR (age/sex Westergren limits), uric acid (men 3.7–8.0 / women 2.7–6.0), free T4 (0.9–1.7), free T3 (2.0–4.4), CRP (information only, no range) and ALT (men 7–55 / women 7–45, with the doctor's tiers). A small label fix on the CRP card the same evening.
First published (the site's 18th tool). Mifflin–St Jeor BMR + daily calorie range; activity bands use the FAO PAL table — Dr. Umer's decision (he sent the FAO table himself; the common 1.2–1.9 table was rejected). No weight-loss target during pregnancy; safety floors (women 1,200 / men 1,500 kcal).
THE ENGINE WENT LIVE — the master switch was turned on (a one-word change; thresholds, wording and bundle exactly as before), on Dr. Umer's order ('Engine live', ~15:42 PKT). At that moment the engine was armed, but no page was calling it yet.
Host connection went live: the BP tool and site search were connected to the engine (≥180/120 → 1122 strip; crisis words → a strip, Urdu included). The suicide class stayed dark — the softer template had not been written yet, and no wording was invented.
CALM strips: all warning strips changed from harsh red / flashing to a soft neutral background with a bold line (the ⚑ flag and ⋯ menu kept).
PMDC placement: the registration number (777307-01-M) now appears only in the About section — it was removed from the how-we-review byline. Article bylines already carried name + MBBS + date only.
The ⋯ menu went live exactly to Dr. Umer's design: on articles, 5 options (Copy · Copy link · Share · Report a problem · Send a suggestion); on tools, Report + Suggestion only.
20 new health guides were published (heart attack, stroke, type 2 diabetes, hepatitis, asthma, depression and more) — approved by Dr. Umer before publishing.
The new V9 design went live (design only; the Batch-2 content was not part of it).
Urdu correction: 'لعاب' clarified as 'لعاب/تھوک' (2 places); review mark added.
Urdu FAQ wording corrected: 'crisis' wording replaced with 'emergency' in the 180/120 passage; review mark added.
Urdu introduction: AAP classification facts added (age 13+ = Stage 2 at ≥160/100, etc.).
Urdu FAQ aligned exactly with the English: above 180/120 is urgent; rest 5 minutes and re-measure; go to emergency at once if symptoms are present.
Doctor's clinical ruling applied: ≥180/120 is always a hospital emergency (at once if symptoms; otherwise rest 5 minutes, recheck, and go if still that high) — this replaced the AHA wording in both EN and UR.
Two corrections in one update: (a) Urdu wording 'خرافات' → 'افواہ' (2 places in the body); (b) study figures corrected — Nie 2025: 0.62% seeding across 13,959 biopsies; Maducolil 2024 (8,857 patients): about 1%.
Urdu wording corrected in the body: 'خرافات' replaced with 'افواہ'.
Correction: one Medjool date ≈ 18 g carbs; two dates are more than two servings (EN + UR).
Urdu wording corrected: 'خرافات' replaced with 'افواہیں' (3 titles).
The new V9 design went live — the whole look changed (design only; the content stayed the same).
Verification corrections: 180/120 FAQ (AHA 2024) and the children's age qualification (AAP).
Verification corrections: ingredients FAQ (CDC Pink Book), Urdu drops count, Urdu halal Q&A, Urdu travel tip.
Critical low-BP branch added: at 60/40 the tool shows 'call 1122' plus first aid.
Extreme-low branch added: below 50/30 the result is critical, with a cuff re-check and possible causes.
Driving advice added: do not drive yourself — go with someone.
The emergency strip was launched (Phase 1) — in that form it showed only Pakistan's number (1122).
The how-we-review page went live for the first time (Phase 1).
10 myth-check articles were published — every one reviewed by Dr. Umer.
Audit fixes (P0): the low branch was corrected to <90/60 and emergency detection added, following Dr. Umer's clinical decisions ('go to hospital at once'; <90/60 = low BP).
First published (Phase C): an EN + UR page listing the red-flag (urgent) points collected from all the articles.
Tribunal fixes: pregnancy caveat (ACOG severe-hypertension threshold), 180/120 crisis FAQ, adult scope, 'worst-ever' headache wording, Rescue 1122.
First published — passed by Dr. Umer with 2 corrections applied before publishing: (1) 'During the daytime'; (2) the Urdu heading wording changed from 'warning signs' to 'danger signs'.
Tribunal fix: the 7–10% weight-loss target added (AASLD 2023 / EASL 2024).
First published — the 90/60 threshold had been confirmed by Dr. Umer (17 Oct); went live with the 'Doctor reviewed' chip.
First published: EN + UR, 12 danger signs, a checklist and doctor questions. The text was written by Dr. Umer himself.
